We're a new church in the city of Long Beach. Since October of 2007 we've been getting to know our surroundings and the people of this great city. Like Jesus, our desire is the benefit of others. We are seeking the welfare of Long Beach through telling the story of Jesus with our mouths and showing the kindness of Jesus with our hands.
We meet weekly at 4 PM on the campus of Hope Community Church to reorient ourselves to the reality that Jesus is Lord. We are a broken-yet-hopeful community of people who need the gospel and each other. Our service is followed by dinner every week because there's something special about sharing a meal together and also because hospitality is a lost art that we hope to recover. We humans are made for community and so these regular times of sharing our lives with each other are essential.
In addition to weekly meetings, we have a KIDS club that meets the last Saturday of the month. Also, since we recognize that we don't exist for ourselves, but for others, we serve Long Beach through some of the excellent non-profits (Long Beach Rescue Mission, Precious Lamb Preschool, Serve the City), and simply choose to participate in life here where God has planted us.
We are excited that God has brought us here to start this new church. Whether you've begun the journey with Jesus, desire to find out more about him, or just want a place where you'll find love and acceptance, we hope you'll come and visit.
